Serial X

This software stores all the licenses and registration codes of your software.

Databases are stored in the program's root path away from hacking attacks. They can be easily transported to other computers or stored elsewhere for back up. This method also protects the data integrity in case Windows system gets corrupted which may corrupt other software registration as well.

Serial X program is not populated with millions of settings nor requires any configuration. But yet it is a good idea to get acquainted with a few of it functions.

You see five buttons on the top right. Four of them have small text. The fifth access the main menu functions. The other four access different databases so you can have separate records for gaming software, utilities, tools and other miscellaneous programs. You may want to take advantage of this facility instead of storing all codes in a common database.

There is another row of buttons bellow. These are larger and fundamental for the operation. From left to right their functions are as follow.
Add, Replace, Delete and Clear.

Use Add button to insert new entries to the database. Replace to re insert modified data. Delete to extract and Clear to clean the field.

The Tools button holds a pop-up menu. Press the left mouse button over the word Tools to show the menu. Some menu options will not be available at all times but depending on other program's functions.

Menu Selections

Recall Registrant: Select this (default selected) to leave the username name on the input field after all other fields are cleared.

Hide Passwords: (default selected) Shows or hide the password present in the Password input field.

Suggest Password: Use this tool when you need to issue a password for subscribing to a service. Reusing passwords is never a good idea and creating them is just a task for machines. You can change the length of the password by clicking over the length number.

Addresses are: Select the address type most used so the program will always have the Address header ready for you to type the significant part.

Copy: The fields you most likely want to copy to the clipboard so they can easily be pasted into other forms.

Other tools and functions

Clicking on an address in the Address field, when that address appears underlined opens a browser instance that points to that Internet site.

Data is NOT added to the database until you press the Add or Replace button. However those buttons are always enabled. Which means you could make an entry with incomplete field.

All fields are optional however leaving the Registration # field blank serves a different purpose. When you do that, Serial X software uses the data from the Product and Registered to fields as a user/password pair to restrict access to it database through the program. In other words, if you want to password protect the records stored by Serial X enter a words in the Product field and another on the Registered to field. The next time the program runs it will tell access is restricted and authentication is necessary to proceed. Again you will need to type those two words on the respective fields to gain entry. To delete the passwords re-type them on their appropriate fields and press the Delete button.

The Register button will go away after you enter the activation code. Press that button to go to our secure server where you can purchase a license to use this software forever. This software will expire 15 days after the first use. Your support is needed and appreciated.
