| The Paw has 5 sections. Four are round sections (thumbs). Each thumb contains
2 functions. Each function is called by one of the two mouse buttons. If you position the mouse cursor over a thumb a legend will display. Each legend of a pre-programed thumb is separated by a "/" symbol. At each side of the symbol there is the name of a function. The left side function is called upon by the left mouse button click and the right one by the right mouse button click. All thumbs can be programed to perform each other functions or to run other programs already present in your computer. To re program the thumbs press F11 key. This brings an editor screen. Pre-programed functions The Paw has four pre-programed functions and they are: 1. Turn off screen 2. Turn off computer 3. Dimm screen 4. Black screen 1. Turn off screen: Shuts down the monitor by disconnecting the video output from the computer. Note: moving the mouse will turn it back on. 2. Turn off computer: Shuts down Windows. 3. Dimm screen: Helps reducing screen glare when the computer is working and for some reason you don't want to turn the monitor off. When this function is selected, the screen glare will dimm gradually but the paw will have full bright still at the end. If you click at any area other than the Paw, the paw will be dimmed as well. To come back to normality do the following: If the paw has full visibility click again the dimmer button. If the paw is dimmed as well then press the Esc key. 4. Black screen: Makes the screen black. The monitor is not shut down and the mouse cursor stays on. Click the mouse to return to normality. Button Assignation Editor: On this screen you can re-assign the buttons functions. You can switch buttons and or functions and also assign other programs to be launched when you select a thumb with either button. There are 8 buttons color coded. 4 of each color as the color each thumb acquires when you pan the mouse cursor over. Buttons for the right mouse button have a R and L for left mouse button. The first input box next to the color button is for a name that identifies the function the button has. You cannot edit on that field if it has a pre-programmed function on you must delete it first. For all other functions can be edited normally. The contiguous field is for the path to the executable. For example if you want to program the third thumb to launch notepad when you click with the left mouse button you would press the orange button with a L letter. Type notepad on the first contiguous field and the path to notepad.exe on the next field. The button with a red X is used to delete the assignation of a pre-programmed function. Once it is removed from the active fields it is stored on the box on top (the one that pulls down) so you can, if wanted, use it in another thumb. The rectangle with a windows logo is a drop target and is there to help you entering the path to an executable file. So instead of typing the full path to the executable you just deposit there a shortcut icon and the editor will import the correct path. For example if you want to use notepad.exe you could open Windows explorer and look for notepad icon. Then drag it and release it over the drop target. An alternative and simpler method would be to open Search from the Start menu and search for notepad.exe then, drag the icon and release it over the drop target. The Default button returns everything to it default. It will also remove any edits you've done. To save and close press the Close button. To close without saving press the X (top right).
